Cervical Screening
Cervical screening (formerly known as the Pap smear) is an important test that helps prevent cervical cancer. It checks for the presence of the human papillomavirus (HPV), which can cause changes to the cells of the cervix over time.
Our caring doctors provide a comfortable, private, and respectful environment for your cervical screening test.
Who should have the test?
- Women and people with a cervix aged 25–74
- Every 5 years, if your results are normal
- Or sooner, if your doctor advises based on your medical history or symptoms
What to expect:
- A simple test performed in the clinic by a trained doctor or nurse
- Only takes a few minutes
- You can ask for a female doctor if you prefer
- We explain the process beforehand and answer any questions
- Results are usually available within a week, you should make a followup appointment to discuss them
